New apprentice roles for trainee carers

Local people are invited to apply for over 20 new apprenticeship vacancies on offer at care homes across the West Midlands.

Specialist learning provider Acacia Training is recruiting to the apprentice carer roles on behalf of care organisation HC-One, which operates dementia, nursing, residential and specialist care homes throughout the UK.

The new roles are available for trainees aged 18 or over who are hoping to start out in the care sector or to retrain for a career in health and social care. Successful applicants will join HC-One in Apprentice carer positions which will allow them to start work in a care home whilst studying a health and social care qualification with Acacia Training.

Positions are currently available in Burntwood, Dudley, Stafford and Coventry in the West Midlands region, in addition to a further 37 vacancies in the East Midlands.

Julie Arrowsmith is leading the recruitment at Acacia Training on behalf of HC-One in the midlands region. She comments: “We are very proud to have been appointed by HC-One to recruit and train the next generation of carers for their care homes in the Midlands region. HC-One is a fantastic, nationwide company that employs and trains committed staff to provide the very best care to care home residents.”

She adds: “HC-One offers an initial training allowance of £5 per hour in line with national set apprenticeship pay rates. They also offer career progression routes to the role of nursing assistant once the apprentice has successfully completed their training.”
