IT’S A MYTH! SCHOOL AND COLLEGE LEAVERS DO WANT A CAREER IN CARE!
2.4m jobs are to be made available by 2025 to meet the demand of the care sector. Attracting a new generation of school leavers, college and university graduates is key to the industry’s growth and quality standards, according to Skills for Care.
Skills for Care are running a myth-busting campaign to address the common misconception that ‘young people don’t want to work in the care sector’. The need to attract school, college, and university leavers is imperative in order to meet the demands of an aging care sector workforce.
Here at Acacia Training, we couldn’t agree more. We work with care companies across the UK to provide fully funded work-based learning programmes to people starting out in health and social care and early years care. Some are school or college leavers, while others want to retrain from their previous careers to a care career that is more personally rewarding.
